Friends & Helpers wrapping and gift drop off event

December 6, 2009- Friends & Helpers wrapping and gift drop off event.

For the past month members of 4GOOD have been helping us buy gifts for the 5 sponsored families we adopted through the Friends & Helpers organization. 4GOOD gathered all the gifts and wrapped what was dropped off before the event...see the kids helping us do the wrapping.

On 12/6, about 25 members met in the morning and arrived at the event ready to volunteer. Along with our kids we filled stockings, filled bags of cosmetics and wrapped gifts all to give back to the women, teens and children from abused situations.

It was a fantastic event and one that I am sure we will participate in every year.

A big thank you to all the members who helped with gifts, volunteering and just supporting us doing something 4GOOD!

Check out the pictures and the link to the organization that has helped so many.

4GOOD Recycling Picnic

October 17, 2009-

The first ever 4Good picnic. Today a few of the 4Good members met at the park with the kids and bought a picnic. We met new people and most importantly we gathered in our community to do something 4Good.

Everyone brought their Bottles and Cans...then after the picnic- Katie, Jeff, Rosalind, Naomi, Peter, Izak, Eli and I (founding members of 4GOOD) took them over to the Burbank Recycling Center where we came upon the biggest mound of trash I have ever seen. We sorted through bag after bag and recycled a whopping 15lbs of aluminum cans, 100 lbs of glass, and 50 lbs of plastic. We made $79.89! Wow...amazing!!! See the newly added pictures below!

Back to School Friends & Helpers Event 8/14/2009

August 14, 2009-

The first ever 4GOOD participating event...here is where it all started.
We discovered a wonderful organization called Friends& Helpers - a unique grass roots charity organization that has been around since 1992 helping abused women and their kids as well as many other people in our community who need help.

We found out about their back to school program for kids who needed supplies so we decided to purchase some supplies and bring our own kids to help stuff back packs on the day of the event.

It was amazing- not only did it feel great to get out there and do something to help, the truly amazing part was to watch our kids having fun while making a real difference. It was exactly why we started this group.

The best part was when my 9 year old, Izak said, " this was so much fun - it really makes me feel good that I am helping other kids who need our help." Gave us chills and tears in our eyes!

Great job Rosalind, Izak and Eli! You inspired us and hopefully many other kids and families to give back!
